Description
Another beauty! Handcrafted out of South American Cocobolo, this awl has a sharp 3/16 inch steel shaft and a hand turned brass ferrule. I made this scratch awl specifically for woodworking, but I'm sure it could be used for many purposes. The comfortable handle has also been given a smooth, highly polished lacquer finish and has exceptional balance. Please notice the beautiful red and black grain for this particular piece of wood. The shaft has a shiny smooth surface and has been hand ground to a needle sharp point. It is fully hardened and tempered (not just the point). The awl is 54 and 3/4 inches long.
